There is no shortage of technology solutions available to out-of-hospital healthcare providers today. In fact, the typical doctor’s office or pharmacy relies on a mix of different solutions to manage daily functions like document management, appointments, payments and more.
However, the reality is that many of these systems are not designed to work together, frustrating providers across locations and specialties. Multiple logins and passwords only exacerbate the problem, making it harder for healthcare providers to spend time with patients and perform activities that keep them profitable.
The typical out-of-hospital healthcare provider is using four or more different technology solutions to manage daily functions.
Lack of integration between systems topped all other technology frustrations, including service downtown time or interruptions, poor design and lack of features.
Nearly 20% of respondents said they planned to reduce their number of technology solutions in 2019.
At a time when burnout is a serious challenge, Updox surveyed more than 600 out-of-hospital healthcare providers serving the ambulatory and pharmacy needs of patients. The responses from these physicians, pharmacists and their staffs underscore the need to invest in solutions that work well with other systems, do more, and are priced competitively.
