We are excited to introduce Monthly Insights with Dr. Barbash, a retired neurologist and founder of Updox. In these monthly conversational articles, Dr. Barbash will lead users through a new feature or workflow that can be leveraged by your practice.
This month we are discussing Referrals – if your practice has ever struggled with finding the right physician for a referral, coordinating communication, or ensuring timely availability, this blog is for you! Employee Spotlight
Meet Karl F., Healthcare Solutions Consultant
Greetings! If we haven’t met yet, I’m Karl Freudenreich your Healthcare Solutions Consultant here at Updox. I have been with Updox since 2015. Prior to Updox I worked for IBM in their E-Commerce division. Starting in the mid-80s, EDI transformed the retail industry in the same way HL7 and ONC are transforming Healthcare Informatics today. I was drawn to Updox as this transformation is critical to our healthcare as a nation. I started as the Director/Manager of the Partner Support team and in 2022 I became the Healthcare Solutions Consultant for our business development team. Today I help our partners leverage Updox features to best meet the applications needs.
Outside of Updox, I’m a musician and a live sound engineer for my church and small concerts and now now that Covid is waning, I’m really hoping to get out there and play more often. I’m also a farmer-in-training, as my father-in-law has needed more assistance on his farm, I’m learning a lot about old John Deere tractors. My wife and I are also victims of the Covid puppy syndrome - in January 2020 we had one dog and now we have 3; two Texas Heelers and a Border Collie. Having active dogs, we are involved in K9 sports like Disc Dog competitions. We are yet to compete outside of the regional leagues, but we compete with some national champions who live the area, and our tricks are improving each week. Feel free to reach out to me with Updox, Music, or Dog questions! You might want to pass on the old tractor questions until I can do more than identify a 1937 B from a 50’s era M.
